The retreat includes four days of ocean activities, carefully planned around weather, sea conditions and the best opportunities for each experience.
Some days will take us far offshore and require a full day on the water.
Others will be shorter excursions, giving us time to explore more of the island between dives.

🦈 BLUE SHARK EXPEDITION
A FULL DAY IN THE OPEN ATLANTIC
Our blue shark expedition takes us offshore into the open Atlantic.
This is a full-day ocean adventure, allowing enough time for the journey offshore, the encounter itself and the return to the island.
We’ll enter the blue in search of these elegant pelagic sharks and other marine life.

A FULL DAY AT SEA
Princess Alice Bank is a remote seamount far offshore, so reaching it is an expedition in itself.
We’ll dedicate a full day to this iconic location, giving us the best possible opportunity to dive in search of manta rays and other pelagic life.
Imagine descending into the deep blue with no coastline in sight and suddenly seeing a giant manta appear from the distance.
This is one of the experiences that makes the Azores truly extraordinary.

🔨 HAMMERHEADS
A HALF-DAY IN THE SHALLOW BLUE
Our hammerhead experience takes place in shallow water, where we’ll snorkel in search of these naturally shy sharks.
Because the encounter is closer to shore, this is planned as a half-day experience.
Snorkeling allows us to observe the animals from the surface while giving them the space they need.
The goal isn’t to get closer. It’s to let the encounter happen naturally.

A HALF-DAY UNDERWATER
The Azores were shaped by volcanic activity — and underwater, that story continues.
On our half-day excursions, we’ll explore volcanic underwater landscapes, formations, walls and caves.
Depending on conditions, these outings may also include encounters with eagle rays and other marine life.

PRINCESS ALICE BANK
FAR FROM SHORE. DEEP IN THE BLUE.
Princess Alice Bank is not an ordinary dive site.
Located far offshore, this remote seamount rises from the deep Atlantic and attracts an incredible variety of pelagic life.
Manta rays.
Open ocean.
Deep blue water.
No coastline in sight.
Getting there is part of the adventure.
When conditions align, it can become one of the most unforgettable days of the retreat.

Throughout the retreat we’ll explore underwater volcanic formations, walls, caves and dramatic rock landscapes.
Between our major offshore expeditions, these dives allow us to experience a completely different side of the Azores.
One day you’re looking into the blue.
The next, you’re exploring a volcanic world.

A FLEXIBLE ITINERARY BUILT AROUND THE CONDITIONS
The Azores are wild, and the ocean doesn’t follow a calendar.
Wind, waves, visibility, currents and wildlife activity can change quickly.
That’s why we don’t lock the retreat into a rigid day-by-day itinerary.
Instead, we’ll look at the forecast and sea conditions and choose the best window for each experience.
A calm weather window might be our opportunity to make the journey to Princess Alice Bank.
Another might be perfect for the blue shark expedition.
The shorter excursions give us flexibility to explore closer to shore when conditions aren’t right for a full-day offshore trip.
We work with the ocean — not against it.
All activities are subject to weather, sea conditions, safety considerations and wildlife behavior.

This retreat is designed for certified scuba divers who are comfortable in open-water conditions.
Some of the planned experiences are offshore and can involve deeper water, currents and changing conditions.
Your certification level, recent diving experience and comfort level will be considered when planning the activities.
Specific certification and experience requirements will be provided before booking.
If you haven’t dived recently, a refresher may be recommended before the retreat.

We don’t chase, touch or manipulate animals.
We enter their environment, maintain responsible distances and let the encounter happen naturally.
